PINE BLUFF — Carroll (Cubby) H. Hamilton,

91, of Pine Bluff passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 5, 1932 in Palmyra, Ark.

He was a devoted husband and father, and lifelong member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Palmyra. His favorite pastime included spending time with his grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. He was always willing to make a joke or silly face to get a smile.

He graduated in 1949 from Glendale High School and served in the US Army in the 11th Airborne Division from 1951-1953 as a Corporal. He became a finish carpenter and later a business rep for Carpenter Local Union 576 for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and O. Inez Collins Hamilton; and two brothers, Wilbur Hamilton and Bill Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Becky) of 66 years; one sister, Shirley Chandler; children, Cindy (Tom) VanVeckhov­en of North Little Rock, Teresa (Victor) Calcote of Ocean Springs, Miss., Carroll, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Beverly (Marshall) Mays of White Hall, Juanda (Leon, Jr.) Tubbs of Hamburg, and Angelia (James) Sowell of Leachville; Nine grandchild­ren; and 12 great- grandchild­ren.

Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Griffin Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. The service will be officiated by John Marlar. Burial at New Owen Cemetery. Pallbearer­s include Richard Frizzell, Miles VanVeckhov­en, Martin Richardson, Ryan Frizzell, Brendan McCaig and John Crow.
