ALLEIN BEALL, JR.,

-

100, of Little Rock Ark., passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, with his beloved wife, Jean Stevenson Beall, by his side.

Allein met Jean on a blind date while attending the University of Arkansas, and it was love at first sight. They were married in Jonesboro on August 28, 1946, and shared 77 years of marriage, one of the longest recorded in the state.

Allein was born in Helena Ark., on November 1, 1923, to his parents - Elizabeth “Puds” Coolidge Beall and Allein Beall, Sr. – where he grew up with his older sister, Cornelia Beall Graham Hockridge, younger brother William Upton Beall, and his grandmother Cornelia (Nina) Polk Coolidge (all of whom preceded him in death.)

Allein was a Navy Lieutenant and fighter pilot during World War II. He joined his father in the family brokerage business, The Beall Company, Inc. He was a master at wood working and restoring antiques. Allein served for many years as the Jr. and Sr. Warden at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

His greatest joy and pride in life came from being “Daddy” to his three daughters, “PawPaw” to his six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and close friends with his three sons-in-law. Just a few days before his passing, Allein celebrated his 100th birthday with family and shared many stories and adventures from his long life.

Survivors include his wife Jean Stevenson Beall; his daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth “Tootsie” and Ron Hickman of Memphis, Nina and Edmond Waters of Little Rock, Jeanie and Jim Berna of Little Rock; his grandchildren: J. Hickman (Sissy), Pat Hickman (Stephanie), Laura Waters Hinson (Tommy), Angela Waters Dow, AJ Berna (Liz), Nate Berna; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena on Thursday, November 16, at 1 p.m.
