WILLIAM ALBERT “AL” DAVIS

passed away on November 11, 2023. He was born June 16, 1940, in Little Rock to Curtis and Lottie Davis.

He was a follower of Christ and faithfully attended Indian Springs Baptist Church where he was a member.

Al worked for the Little Rock Fire Department for 35 years where he retired as a Battalion Chief. He served as a fire commission­er for Arch Street Water-Fire District 16. He was also a member of the Arkansas Fire Chiefs Associatio­n and the Arkansas Fire Protection Licensing Board.

Aside from being a firefighte­r, he was the founder/owner of Metropolit­an Fire Extinguish­er Company for 50 years. Al was a member of Albert Pike Lodge # 714 as a Past Master and a member of Iron Springs Lodge 342. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Davis; mother, Lottie Davis; and a sister, Bernice Cook.

Al is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Davis; daughter, Traci Morehead (Mike); sons, Dennis Davis (Monica), William “Doug” Davis (Angela); grandchild­ren, Jordan Billson (Tyler), Jenna Freeman (Chase), Hannah Davis, Kampbell Davis, Paylin Davis; a great-grandchild, Harper Billson; sisters, Linda Shedd, Lillian Morrison (Winston); and a host of many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Fallen Firefighte­rs Memorial.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant, Ark., with visitation one hour prior. A graveside service will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangemen­ts by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.
