SUSAN ELAINE HOLMES,

-

65, of Little Rock, Ark., went to be with her Savior, on November 15, 2023 after a long illness. Susan was born in Memphis, Tenn., on August 17, 1958. She was the daughter of the late William Arlan Simpson and the late Mary Juanita Simpson (Brasfield).

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ken Holmes of Little Rock; her children, Michael Holmes and his wife Melanie of North Little Rock, and Kelly Holmes of Little Rock; her grandsons, Bennett and Gabe; and her brother: Bill Simpson of Memphis, Tenn.

Susan loved her children. There was nothing she would not do for them to give them opportunities in life. There were few things Susan loved more than traveling, baseball, and the outdoors. She was a season ticket holder for the Arkansas Travelers for 36 years, a would often travel with her “baseball family” to watch the team play in other cities. When she wasn’t attending baseball games, she could be found camping with her family at state and national parks, enjoying God’s beauty where ever she was.

Susan was a long-time member of Markham Street Baptist Church, where she served in the children’s and women’s ministries. Susan brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness and loving spirit will live on in the hearts who knew her.

Services will be held on Monday, November 27, at Markham Street Baptist Church, 9701 West Markham, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., with services starting at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, asks that donations be made to Markham Street Baptist Church, the Humane Society of Pulaski County, or to the charity of your choice.
