WOMEN

ARKANSAS STATE 95, HENDRIX 15

The Arkansas State women handled Hendrix on Tuesday night at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

Five players scored in double figures for the Red Wolves with Lauryn Pendleton leading the way with 17 points on 7-on-7 shooting from the floor. Izzy Higginbott­om scored 14 points in 16 minutes for ASU.

Crislyn Rose scored 11 points and dished out a game-high five assists. Anna Griffin and Kiayra Ellis each added 10 points each.

The game got out of hand early as the Red Wolves jumped out to a 39-3 lead through the first quarter. The halftime score was 52-5.

Hendrix was led by Bella Cates, who scored nine pointss. Brailey Forst with four points and Natalie Edmonson with two points were the only other Hendrix players to score a field goal.

MEN

MINNESOTA 86, UAPB 67

Dawson Garcia’s 19 points led a quartet of players double figures for Minnesota (4-1), which dominated on the glass and in bench points to pick up a home victory at Williams Arena in Minneapoli­s.

Cam Christie had 14 points, Joshua Ola-Joseph scored 12 points and Elijah Hawkins knocked in 10 points for the Golden Gophers, who snapped a 13-13 tie with a 13-2 run in the first half that forced UAPB (3-3) to play from behind the rest of the game. Minnesota also held a 50-31 rebounding advantage and scored 31 bench points compared to six for the Golden Lions.

Rashad Williams led UAPB with 26 points. Lonnell Martin Jr. had 14 points, while Kylen Milton, who came in averaging nearly 24 points per game, was held to eight points.
