PINE BLUFF — Jerry W. Drake (Bubba)

born May 13, 1942, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on November 28, 2023.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wanda Williams Drake; his son, Tim (Debbie) Drake; daughters, Jonda (Kevin) Dunn and Gina (Gerry) Sory; his sisters, Louise Thompson, Ruth Ann Johnson, and Neecy Robertson; brothers, Dale (Dena) Drake and Larry (Diane) Drake; grandchild­ren, Jason (Jessie) Bennett, Zach (Agnes) Bennett, Jana Drake, John Drake, Jacob (Kristy) Haley, and Grayson (Gracie) Haley; and great-grandchild­ren, Presley Bennett, Beckham Bennett, Drake Flemister, Baylor Bennett, Jack Drake, Juliet Bennett, Brady Bennett, Hudson Haley, and the soon to be here, James Gray Haley.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Drake and Edith Morgan Drake; brothers, Donald Drake “Duck” and David Drake “Cob.”

Jerry began his career at National Wire after graduating Star City High School. After that, he was the co-founder of Southern Specialty Services in 1990.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff. He loved serving the Lord and doing His work. He was a member of Men’s Ministry, Prayer Force, and usher, Prison Outreach, Director of Ushers and Greeters, Pine Bluff Outreach, and he was on the Board of the Church and Choir.

Jerry loved spending time at the river house, being with his wife and children, grands and great grandkids. He also enjoyed bringing people to Jesus, fishing, classic cars, golf, working in the yard and studying the Bible.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Pastor Gary Bell and Bro. Mike Cottrell officiatin­g. Visitation is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial at Drake Cemetery immediatel­y following. Pallbearer­s are Jason Bennett, Jacob Haley, Grayson Haley, John Drake, Cecil Mosley, and Larry Spadoni.
