PATRICIA ANN WILLIAMS-SIMMONS, age 82,

was born in North Little Rock, Ark., on October 7, 1941, and peacefully passed away on November 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Amanda Thomas; sister, Martha Allen; and daughter, Angela Williams (Father - Dr. Sterling Williams Jr). She is survived by: her loving husband, Fred L. Simmons Jr.; children, Kimberly D. Simmons, Sterling Williams III (Father - Dr. Sterling Williams Jr.), Derek E. Simmons (Yolanda), and Spencer (Jennifer) Williams (Father - Sterling Williams Jr.); beautiful grandchild­ren, Christian Williams, Nicholas L. Simmons, and Sidney Williams. Patricia graduated valedictor­ian of the Scipio A. Jones High School Class of 1959. She was also a 1963 graduate of Philander Smith College, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Gamma Alpha Chapter in 1960. Patricia was a lifelong member and faithful servant of Bethel AME Church in North Little Rock, Ark., and a retired employee of the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, 11 a.m., Bethel AME Church, 600 N. Cedar Street in North Little Rock, Ark.; Rev. Tyrone Broomfield, officiatin­g. Visitation is at 10 a.m., one (1) hour prior to funeral service, also at the church. Interment will be immediatel­y after funeral service at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, Ark. The family would like to thank the UAMS ICU Unit, Arkansas Hospice Ottenheime­r Inpatient Center at St. Vincent’s Hospital Little Rock, Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home in Little Rock, and all the wonderful family and friends for their compassion, love, and condolence­s. Face masks are mandatory for either service.
