BLYTHEVILLE — Carolyn Warner White Ellis

-

passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 13, 2023, at Circle of Life in Springdale.

She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 10,1951, the daughter of Boyd and Peggy White, both of whom predeceased her.

Carolyn grew up on her family farm in Osceola and attended William Woods University for two years where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in elementary education and taught for more than twenty years in the public and private schools of Mississippi County, Ark.

Carolyn enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and most of all, simply being with her family. She was particularly fond of the annual beach trip to Destin, Fla., with the family, as well as baking and playing the piano with her children and grandchildren. There were multiple trips to England where she and her husband were fond of visiting the interiors of many historic structures, including the occasional pub or two.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles, of Blytheville, children Mary Ellis (Jennifer Mills), Michael Ellis (Aracely), and Emily Porter. She has five grandchildren, Caleb and Abby Fann, Katie, Mikey, and Zoe Ellis, and seven granddogs, all of Northwest Arkansas; brothers Moreland White (Christie) and Godfrey White (Lucy) of Osceola.

In accordance with Carolyn’s wishes, no services are planned. It is suggested that any memorials be sent to the Mississippi County Library System or any area animal shelter.
