PINE BLUFF — Gary Andrew “Drew” Seaton, 67, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, 46 years to the day that he proposed marriage to his loving wife. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfathe­r, an avid Razorback fan, and loved watching baseball. He also enjoyed reunions with his extended families. Drew was born on August 3, 1956, in Searcy, Ark. He was the older son of Gordon Eugene Seaton and Bilijon Matlock Seaton. He moved to Pine Bluff with his family at a young age, and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1974. He attended the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le before moving back to Pine Bluff. Drew worked for Fox Brothers Hardware and Southern Hardware for many years as an outside sales representa­tive. He was a lifelong Christian, attending First Christian Church, and later, joined First United Methodist Church of Pine Bluff. He later transferre­d his membership to White Hall United Methodist Church. He loved watching and participat­ing in various sports throughout his life. He began playing basketball, baseball, football, and golf at an early age. He won the Arkansas State Golf Championsh­ip at age 12. He was a Dial Junior High athlete, who participat­ed in football and basketball and was named Mr. Mustang by the school. At the same time, he also played Babe Ruth Baseball, where he participat­ed in many local, regional, and national tournament­s, including the Babe Ruth Baseball World Series that was held in Pine Bluff in 1972. Drew played American Legion Baseball throughout high school. As a Pine Bluff High School Zebra, he participat­ed in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He was also elected president of his freshman class and a member of the Optimist Club. Drew was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Cindy Kalkbrenne­r Seaton, whom he married June 30, 1978; two daughters: Andrea Sealy and her husband, Kyle, of White Hall, and Ellen Seaton, of Little Rock; brother, Lee Kirkwood Seaton, of Fayettevil­le; and three granddaugh­ters: Charlotte “Charleigh” Sealy, Carsyn Sealy, and Clancy Sealy; four nephews, several cousins, and his beloved dogs, Molly and Chipper. The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff of The Springs of Pine Bluff for all of their loving care and compassion in his final months of life, the medical staff at JRMC, and the many physicians who have cared for him throughout his life, and would also like to thank Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home for their kindness, helpfulnes­s, and support during this difficult time. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023, at White Hall United Methodist Church, with Reverend Doug Phillips officiatin­g, by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
