DEWITT — Michael Harvey Jacobs,

age 68, of DeWitt, Ark., passed away Tuesday January 16, 2024 at DeWitt Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Mike was born on October 3, 1955, to Allen Roger Jacobs and Elizabeth Broeks Jacobs in Stuttgart, Ark. He was a member of Faith Baptist church in DeWitt. Mike graduated from DeWitt High School in 1973 and has spent most of his life working in the field of agricultur­e, duck guiding, and enjoyed playing softball for 50 years. He was inducted into the Arkansas Softball Hall of Fame in 2004. He also loved being “Coach Papaw Mike” to the little league girls softball team. He was employed by DeWitt Fertilizer Company for the past 13 years.

Mike married LouAnna Davis Stoddard on July 3, 1998.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Roger Jacobs and Elizabeth Broeks Jacobs; two sisters, Sandy and Judy; one brother, Jimmy Dale Jacobs; and one stepson, Brice D. Stoddard.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, LouAnna Jacobs; one son, Drew Jacobs (Lauren) of Stuttgart, Ark.; one stepdaught­er, Tawana Watson (Dean) of St. Charles, Ark.; one brother, Doug Jacobs (Debbie) of Stuttgart, Ark.; one sister, Allene Gibbs (Jim) of Vilonia, Ark.; five grandchild­ren, Mason, Jacie Ann, Ava, Lauren, and Madalyne; six great-grandchild­ren, Jaxon, Bricelyne, Autumn, Sawyer, Lincoln, and Regan Elizabeth; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. January 18 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services will be January 19 at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart.
