ALTHEIMER — Raymond Blair Bryant,

86, of Altheimer went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born May 1, 1937, in Altheimer to Raymond Clenth and Grace Blair Bryant.

The 1955 graduate of Altheimer High School was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, serving on active duty from 1955-1959 and in the active reserves while living in Arizona. During this time, he worked for the Arizona Highway Patrol and AiResearch Company.

Raymond returned to Arkansas and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administra­tion from UALR, and then a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Missouri State University. He became a trooper with the Arkansas State Police, rising to Captain and Commander of Troop J in Clarksvill­e. Raymond was an active member of the Altheimer Methodist Church, the State Police Associatio­n and the Arkansas State Police Retirees Associatio­n. He served on the boards of Planter’s Gin and the Southern Cotton Ginners Associatio­n.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jane Clements Bryant; daughters, Robin Bryant (Ed) Campbell, Rhonda Bryant Baskin, and Rebecca Bryant; son, Russell Bryant (Laura Ferguson); grandchild­ren, Richard Clint Bryant, Jr., Brock Baskin, Richard Bryant, Caran Adams, Jessica Campbell (Mason) Sifford, Mara Campbell (Trey Clark), William Bryant and Collin Adams; and one brother, William F. Bryant.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Peggy Sanders Bryant; son, Richard Clint (Mary) Bryant; and sister, Nancy Bryant (Lew) Lyon.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 10, at Altheimer Methodist Church. Rev. Lance Hickerson and Rev. Fred Arnold will officiate. The service will be livestream­ed for anybody unable to attend. Visitation will follow the service.
