HUMPHREY — Armanda Louise VanLanding­ham

was born October 15, 1937, in Almyra, Ark., to Bonnie Hobert and Viola Mae DeWitt Shrum. She was a graduate of DeWitt High School and after her marriage to Alvin Earl VanLanding­ham, she became his right arm in running the family farm. She was always working and stayed active all her life, whether it was working as a meter reader on three routes, cleaning the bank or her church (Humphrey Baptist Church where she was a long-time member), working at the Post Office in Humphrey, or working in her flower beds at home. She loved quilting and canning foods she grew in their garden. Louise also had served as church treasurer and had even prepared the church bulletins for Sunday service.

Louise passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Opal, Clotene, Margret, Oscar, Charlie, Horace, Wesley, and Roscoe.

Survivors include her son, Burton VanLanding­ham; her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Herald Kaffka; and her grandchild­ren, Justin, Christophe­r, and Alexandra Kaffka; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at Humphrey Baptist Church, followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. with Bro. Bobby McPherson officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Flynn Cemetery under the direction of Fuller Hale-South Funeral Service.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Humphrey Baptist Church Missions Fund, or the Arkansas Chapter of the Alzheimers Associatio­n.
