CONWAY — Frances McCullough Pitts,

92, of Conway, Ark., went to be with her heavenly Father on February 5, 2024, with her children by her side.

She was born on September 9, 1931, in Eudora, Ark., to Mike and Jo McCullough.

She was the oldest of three children. After graduating as valedictor­ian of Eudora High School in 1949, she attended Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock. Frances married the love of her life, Frank Pitts, in May 1953, and raised three children in North Little Rock. Frances was a head nurse at Veterans Administra­tion Hospital for 31 years before retiring.

Frances and Frank spent time on many bus tours, working for the Census, and volunteeri­ng with NARFE (National Associatio­n of Retired Federal Employees) and Baptist Hospital. She was a faithful member of several churches, most recently Woodland Heights Baptist in Conway, Ark.

The loving wife and mother is survived by her son, Mike Pitts and wife Dianne of Berryville, Ark.; two daughters, Pamela Allen and husband Dennis of Conway, Ark., and Patty Pitts of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchild­ren, Rob Pitts and wife Jacque of Kimberling City, Mo., and Leslie Paladino and husband Michael of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; two great-grandchild­ren, Gabby and Peter Paladino; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and two brothers, Max Roy McCullough and Willard McCullough.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, before burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Ark. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Arkansas Alzheimers Associatio­n or Gentiva Hospice.
