CALLIE MAE WILLIE THOMPSON JONES

was born August 20th, 1925, in Conway, Ark. to William Thompson and Margaret Thompson she was the oldest of 15 children and the last to fall asleep.

She married Willie Jones on April 2nd, 1945, and to this union 13 children were born. She is preceded in death by her husband Willie Jones, two sons Columbus Jones and Emanuel Jones and two daughters, Ametha Jones and Avis Jones. Two great-grandsons Darel Bowden. Phillip Smith and one great granddaugh­ter Aris Buckley.

(Callie) Mae as most people called her was a faithful member of Little Rock Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist church for over 65 years where she served as a prayer warrior, deaconess, Senioraire, and sabbath school teacher.

Callie was an avid supporter of Shiloh Excel Christian School and when her children attended, she volunteere­d as the school bus driver for the school.

Callie was a missionary in the community, she spent countless hours ministerin­g to her neighbors and passing out literature.

Callie loved sewing and when she was not sewing you could find her in her garden growing all types of vegetables.

Callie had an open-door policy, you were always welcome at her home and her dinner table, she never worried about if there would be enough to feed the many people who stopped by, she always said “God would provide and that he did.

Callie departed this life on February 21, 2024.

She leaves to treasure her memory and celebrate life her children Alfred Jones, Melvin Jones, Awartha Smith, Abiratha Murff, Deborah Jones, Nancy Jones, Roslyn Eason, Margurite Smith, Gaye Jones-Washington, 40 grandchild­ren, 78 great-grandchild­ren, 39 greatgreat grandchild­ren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024 at Shiloh SDA Church, 2400 S. Maple St. in Little Rock, Visitation will be the evening prior, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street also in Little Rock. Mae will be laid to rest following the service at Rest In Peace Memorial Gardens in Hensley.
