She was raised in Marche, Ark., with her seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Lawhon was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, and soon after, she moved to New York City to pursue a career. After sometime in New York, Joanna returned home and met the love of her life, Noal Lawhon. In 1968, Joanna married J. Noal Lawhon II, and together, they had three children: Sheree Stasia Winder, J. Noal Lawhon III, and Thane Joal (T.J.) Lawhon. In their early years, she and Noal worked side by side at the family business, Lawhon Farm Services, in McCrory, Ark. Soon after Sheree was born, Joanna left her position with the company and chose to stay home, devoting her life to her children. She was a dedicated mother, always there to lend an ear or help in any way.

Joanna’s love of travel and desire to see new places led her all over the world. From Alaska to Poland, she never stopped learning about new places and planning the next trip. When she and Noal weren’t visiting new places, you could find her walking the mall or up on the Hill calling the Hogs. Joanna loved the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.

Joanna was a loyal member of the Catholic church, and often participated in Immaculate Conception Church’s Altar society. Joanna is survived by her daughter, Sheree Winder of Bauxite; son, T.J.
