BRINKLEY — Agnes “Nan” Ferguson Stinson,

96 years old, left her earthly home on February 25,

2024.

Born in Coatbridge, Scotland on January 12,

1928, she met the love of her life, James “Jim”

Stinson during his military service in England.

He brought her to the United States, and they were married on November 9, 1951, in Tampa, Fla. During their marriage, Jim’s military career took them to various locations in Europe and in America before they finally settled in Brinkley in 1976.

Nan and Jim raised three sons, welcomed four grandsons and seven great grandchild­ren. She was active in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was beloved in their community. Nan embraced life in the U.S., but remained a proud “Scottish lass” retaining her charming accent, her determined work ethic and her love of fun and family to whom she was affectiona­tely known as Nana.

Nan was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Margaret Ferguson, her beloved husband, Jim, her sister, Anna, her brother, Thomas and her grandson, Whitney.

She is survived by sons; Larry (Penny), Jim (Phyllis) and Frank (Sharon); grandsons, Chris (Lynne), Patrick, and Matthew (Amy); daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Wilson, (Steve); great-grandchild­ren Deacon, Liam, Reed, Charlotte, Kerrigan, Sydney, and Madi. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Ellen Holloway (Sam), sister-in-law, Anne Ferguson and brother Richard Ferguson (Joy) and by a number of nieces and nephews both here and abroad.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 29, at 12:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brinkley, Ark., followed by Rosary at 1:30 and funeral Mass at 2:00. Burial immediatel­y afterwards at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In observance of Lent, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Catholic Cemetery, C/O Kathy Frein, P.O Box 858, Brinkley, Ark., 72021 or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 203 West Ash, Brinkley, Ark., 72021.
