HUMNOKE — Johnie M. Carter,

90, of Humnoke, Ark., was welcomed into Heaven on March 14, 2024. He was born to George and Alice Carter on July 15, 1933, in Brummett, Ark.

Johnie was saved and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Humnoke, Ark. He was the town water keeper for many years and only retired several weeks ago prior to his illness. He also owned his own body shop in Humnoke years ago. He loved his family and played music with his brother Doc.

Johnie was preceded in death by his loving wife Billie and son, Monte Carter, his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

Johnie leaves behind two sons, David Carter (Sharon) and Jerry Carter (Sandy) both from England, Ark.; three grandchild­ren, Bobette Foster (Trey) of Vilonia, Ark.; J. D. Carter (Stacey) of Lowell, Ark., and Caroline Lantz (Matthew) of Fairbanks, Alaska. He had five great-grandchild­ren, Kyle and Carter Foster, Violet Carter, Konner, and Tyler Schoeppler. He is also survived by three brothers, R. B. Carter, Doc Carter, and Elbert Carter all of Humnoke, and one sister, Joyce Staggs of Carlisle. He had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly along with close friends and church family.

He will be missed greatly by those who knew him and loved him.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Both are being held at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery at Snake Island, Ark. Services are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939.
