Jefferson County Food & Safety Report
The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments that include restaurants, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.

Here are recent reports:
TACO BELL, 2712 Olive St. Date of inspection Feb. 21. Observed trash cans containing food residue being kept uncovered when not in continuous use. Trash cans containing food residue should be kept covered when not in continuous use. Ceiling vents in the dry storage area and floors, especially under equipment and the drink storage shelving in the dry storage area, are unclean. Clean the physical facilities as often as necessary to keep them clean.
■ SARACEN Q STORE, 3701 A Market St. Date of inspection Feb. 21. Observed no hand washing sign at hand washing sink. Must have a sign or poster that notifies food workers to wash their hands at all handwashing sinks used by food workers and shall be clearly visible to food workers.
■ CAM PIZZA LLC - (DBA DOMINO’S), 2300 S. Olive St. Date of inspection Feb. 21. No test strips are available in the establishment. Test strips must be available and used to test the strength of chemical sanitizing solutions.
■ A SMALL WORLD DAY CARE CENTER, 1227 W. Fifth Ave. Date of inspection Feb. 29. Observed no paper towels at hand washing sink. Provide a supply of individual disposable towels or a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or a heated-air drying device at each handwashing sink in food preparation, toilet and warewashing areas. paper towel was placed at washing sink during time of inspection.
■ CHEF LEE, 502 Mallard Loop. Date of follow-up inspection March 13. No violations reported. Follow up regards item #48 (Warewashing facilities: installed, maintained, used; test strips) and #16 (Food-contact surfaces: cleaned and sanitized) only.
