BETTY JUNE LANGER MANSON

-

died peacefully at the age of 91 on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

She was Heaven bound.

Betty was born on June 22,

1932, to Joseph and Bozena (Latal) Langer in

Hazen, Ark. She graduated in

1949 from Carlisle High School and soon married David Manson; they had three children.

Betty worked as the office and accounting manager for Jack Tyler Engineering Company in Little Rock; she retired in 1996 after 24 years of dedicated service. Betty lived a full and active life. She served as Children’s Church leader, Sunday School teacher, and youth group kitchen “mom” at Sunset Lane Baptist Church where she raised her children to know the love of God and salvation through Jesus. Over the last four decades, as a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Betty sang in the choir, was a faithful member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class, participated in their WMU auxiliary and volunteered in the church food pantry.

Betty had a friendly, welcoming exuberance and loved serving others. Her quick humor helped brace against the onset of dementia in recent years; her sweet smile and thankful spirit endured to the end.

She leaves behind her family who adored her: daughter, Marilyn Manson-Hayes (Richard, deceased); son, Richard Manson (Dorothy Sykes); daughter, Susan Manson Schafer (Jay); grandchildren, John Schafer (Jessica Swatzel), Meredith Gordon (Brett), Laina Hayes, Glenn Hayes, Roxanne Hayes, Meredith Manson; great-grandchildren, Naomi and John River Gordon.

The family wishes to thank the Immanuel Baptist Church Senior Care Ministry, the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, the staff of Chapters Living and Gentiva Hospice for their loving and consistent care of our mother as she declined. Betty’s memorial service is Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, 1 p.m., at Immanuel Baptist Church Little Rock in the Chapel, 501 N. Shackleford Rd.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry at ibclr.org/give or by mail to IBC 501 N. Shackleford, Little Rock, Ark., 72211, or to the Czech National Cemetery c/o Melva Sabbatini, P. O. Box 298, Hazen, Ark. 72064.
