89, of North Little Rock, died on March 19, 2024.

She was born in Charleston, S.C. in 1934, and was the daughter of Benjamin A. Hall and Grace Jones Hall. She was predecease­d by her parents, and her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Jolly Jr. She is survived by children, Kathy Jolly and Charles (Chip) Jolly (Carol); grandchild­ren, Brandon Jackson, Mitchell (Marlo) Jackson, Robin Jolly; and great-grandchild­ren, Mikayla, Makenzie, and Mason Jackson. LuRene graduated from Eau Claire High School in Columbia, S.C. and went to work for Southern Bell. After marrying and the birth of her children, she went back to school and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mathematic­s from UCA. She taught advanced mathematic­s at Northeast High School in NLR for five years, where she adored her students. She then left teaching and went to work for the State of Arkansas, where she worked for the Department of Computer Services, and later, at DFA. LuRene was an inspiring role model for her family, students, coworkers, and friends. As a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, she was a woman of abiding faith. She loved baseball (especially the Atlanta Braves), classical music, crossword puzzles, the beach, and new cars. She led a long, fulfilling life and will be greatly missed. As per her request, there will be a private interment and a visitation at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, NLR on Monday, March 25 from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Camp Aldersgate or Arkansas Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.
