WARD — Larry Joe Stocks,

77, of Ward, Ark., went to be with Jesus on April 4, 2024. He was born October 26, 1946, in Austin, Ark., to Charles and Leva Mae (Rees) Stocks.

Joe was a retired concrete truck driver. He was a well-liked and respected figure of the Sixteenth Section Community, and a member of Sixteenth Section United Methodist Church. He spent his last days surrounded by loved ones and was visited by over eighty of his dear friends and family members.

He is survived by his son, Neal (Kim) Stocks; and daughter, Diane (Ben) Skeel; grandchildren, Jessica (Jimmy), Jennifer, Jordan (Hunter), Baylee (Nathan), Brayden, and Colton; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Rylie, Daphne, Ari, Raelynn, Houston, and Skyla; sisters, Shirley Oakley and Barbara (Carmon) Ausbrooks; nephew, Brian (Karla) Oakley; and niece, Lydia (Jay) Rogers. He is also survived by April, Brooke, and Alyssa DeVore, and Kim, Allan, Maceo and Ayla SolCruz, and Frankie (Pat Brockington) Cox. Also surviving him are numerous aunts and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Leva Mae Stocks; his infant brother, Ronnie; brother-in-law, Gerald Oakley; and his love, Fran Cox.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 6-8 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Ark. Funeral will be officiated by Rev. Carol Crace on Wednesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at Sixteenth Section United Methodist Church, 8683 Hwy. 319 West, Austin, Ark.
