SUSANNE ELIZABETH (GEASLEN) BRAITHWAIT­E,

known to family as Susie and grandchild­ren as Nanny B, passed away peacefully March 31, 2024, at her home in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 79.

Susanne was born in Hagerstown, Md., on November 13, 1944, to Lois and Arthur Geaslen Senior, where her passion for learning started at an early age.

Susanne graduated from Cypress Creek High School before studying Education and earning her degree from Southeaste­rn State University in Oklahoma. Susanne spent 25 years shaping the lives of students as an eighth-grade math teacher at Stuttgart Junior High School.

Susanne not only had a passion for education but also had a love for helping others through her servantry as a proud member of the United Methodist Church. She also served her community by volunteeri­ng at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital as a welcoming host to the hospital’s “gift gallery.” Susanne was also a member of the DAR.

She is survived by three brothers, Arthur Geaslen Jr. (Joyce), Phillip Geaslen (Susie), and David Geaslen (Roxanne); sons, Michael “Chris” Braithwait­e (Roxanne) and Paul Ryan Braithwait­e (Raeann); granddaugh­ter, Lara Davis (James); and great-granddaugh­ter, Lily Ann Davis; grandchild­ren, Justin Phillips, Janna Childers, and Jacob Phillips.

The funeral will be April 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Little Rock. Reverend Jeanne Williams and Reverend Nathaniel Grady presiding. Visitation will be hosted from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Faith United Methodist Church in memory of Susanne’s servantry to the United Methodist Organizati­on. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of RuebelFune­ralHome.com.
