SARDIS — Nona Faye Crone Moren (of Sardis),

-

beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, joined hands with Jesus at her home on April 26, 2024, at the age of 90 years old. Born on August 21, 1933 in England, Ark., but primarily raised in the Sardis Community, she and her twin brother were the fourth and fifth born children of the late George C. Crone and Sarah Alma Ball Crone. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Waylon Carl Moren, for 65 years before his passing.

Faye was a loyal and devoted member of the Sardis United Methodist Church, serving in many callings with much love and diligence. At death, she was an active member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class, TNT (Senior Citizen Group) and the United Methodist Women. She was a 1951 graduate of Sheridan High School, and enjoyed playing on the High School ladies’ basketball team. After her graduation from high school, she was employed by the Arkansas State Board of Health and the University of Arkansas Medical Center until starting their family. Over the years, she served her community in many capacities, notably as a 4-H leader, 10-year service on the Saline County Fair Board, Extension Homemakers Club, Saline County and State Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, and the Sardis Community Election Poll worker for many years. Faye loved gardening and working in and with her flowerbeds. She loved her family, home, and believed “home is where life begins and love never ends.” One of her favorite things to do was prepare Sunday lunch for her family and celebrate each member’s birthday by making their favorite dessert. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, sister, Claudia Cole; brothers, John Crone, Dean Crone, Ray Crone (twin), and Bob Crone. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Belinda Guinn (Troy), and son, Roger Moren (Julie), all of Sardis; son, Duane Moren (Beth), of Salesville, Ark. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will hold dear to the many fond memories of their Mamaw. They include five grandchildren: Sirron Ritchie (Matt), Jared Guinn (Bailey), Lana Langston (Kyle), Lakyn Moren, and Will Moren. Her six great-grandchildren include Caroline Ritchie, Jensen Guinn, Cora Guinn, Wyatt Ritchie, Hattie Faye Guinn, and Waylon Guinn. Funeral Service will be held at the Sardis United Methodist Church, Bauxite, Ark. on April 30, beginning at 2 p.m., with burial following at the McPherson Cemetery in Sardis. Visitation will be at the Sardis UMC on April 29, from 6-8 p.m.
