Our precious mother, DORIS EMILY BOYER JONES,

89, peacefully passed away at her home in Jacksonvil­le on April 20, 2024. Mom has now been reunited with her beloved husband, Walter, that she married at 17, and son, Scott.

She is survived by her son, Todd Jones; daughters, Vicky (David) Evans, Donna (Vincent) Mallard; grandchild­ren, Troy (Amy) Jones, Tracy Haselow, Megan (Will Atchley) Evans, Scott Evans, Kyle (Sara) Mallard, Emily Mallard; great-grandchild­ren, Hunter Jones, Aiden Jones, Faith Jones, Nate Haselow, Abby Haselow, Asa Atchley, Rory Atchley, and Felix Mallard.

Mom was a lovely, generous woman who gave her time and talents to all who had a need. She was a wonderful mother to her children and ‘Gran’ to her grand- and great-grandchild­ren. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Jacksonvil­le and the North Metro Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid seamstress who loved to read, travel, and play the penny slots at Tunica.

Mom’s favorite times were spent with her sisters, reminiscin­g about their happy childhood growing up in the small town of Aubrey, Ark., next door to the cotton gin her daddy managed. She was one of eight children – including an identical twin named Dorothy – born to Henry and Ruby Boyer.

She is predecease­d by siblings Janie Poindexter, John Boyer, Dorothy Spence, and Kathleen Waller.

Surviving siblings are Ann Stiles, Carrie Eddleman, and Henry Boyer; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Mom had a long and happy life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private celebratio­n of live will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to her church, First United Methodist Church of Jacksonvil­le.
