was welcomed into the Lord’s arms unexpected­ly at her home Tuesday, April 23rd,

2024. Jennifer was born November 7, 1973, in Hot Springs, Ark. She was a proud member of the First United Methodist Church.

Jennifer was a 1992 graduate of Lakeside High School, where she was a cheerleade­r and an active socialite. She attended Louisiana Tech University where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

She later attended University of Arkansas at Little Rock and National Park College where she received her degree in social work and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society.

Jennifer became a manager at Ellis Insurance Agency until the agency was sold. She continued to work at multiple insurance agencies over her career in insurance.

While she was in the insurance industry, Jennifer was an active member of the Profession­al Insurance Agents of Arkansas and Independen­t Insurance Agents of Arkansas. She attended many associatio­n meetings, where she was active on several committees.

It was her degree in social work that introduced her to her passion of helping others. Jennifer became a counselor at Harbor House and Behavioral Health Group until the day she passed.

She met the love of her life, Richard Lynn Farner, and they were married in November 2002. Jennifer was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and mother. She was nominated for Woman of the Year in Hot Springs multiple times.

She loved living on the Broken Skull Ranch watching the wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Her life revolved around her family. Her passions included eating meals with loved ones, family vacations at the beach, and shopping for the wildest clothes she could find. She was flamboyant in her style and never hesitated to express it. She was an animal lover and activist, and cherished time with her rescue pets.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Michael Reed Ellis (Connee Ellis) and Judy Vanderslic­e-Dickins (Jodi Dickins); her sister, Heather Lynn Slay (David Slay); her stepsister­s, Marjorie Hamilton (Gabe Hamilton) and Sarah Dickens; husband, Richard Lynn Farner, and her children, Bailey Ellis Farner (Taylor Farner) and Grayson Reed Farner; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, both real and on Facebook.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Monday April 29th, 2024, by and through Reverends David Wilson and Johnna J. Galloway. In true Jennifer fashion, she would request you wear your brightest colors in memory of her. Honorary pallbearer­s include Matt Neaville, Jim Burgess, Q. Byrum Hurst, Josh and Justin Hurst, and staff at BHG. Interment will be private. Reception to follow the memorial service at 338 Little Mazarn Rd., Hot Springs, Ark., 71913. Memorials/Donations may be made to Garland County Humane Society, or First United Methodist Church.
