HOWELL - William P. Tuohy, age 87, of Howell, passed away on June 28, 2023, at his home. He was the loving husband of Teresa M. (Losardo) Tuohy for over 60 years of marriage.

William was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 13, 1936, and he was the son of the late William P. Tuohy and the late Mary E. (Cleary) Tuohy. From 1958 - 1960, William was a member of the US Army 7th Cavalry Second Recon Squadron stationed in Germany. He was a graduate of Rutgers University. William worked at Dixon Crucible Company and that is where he met Teresa. His main career was working for RCA in Credit Collection­s and Government Contracts. He worked for NuWay Intermodal as the Comptrolle­r until he retired. In 1973, William moved to Howell where he referred to himself as a city boy who became a country boy. He was always outside working in his garden or on his tractor cutting grass. He was a member of St. Veronica’s Catholic Church for over 50 years.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Teresa M. (Losardo) Tuohy who passed four months prior to his death. He was predecease­d by his sister, Mary Ellen Sartori, and his brother, John T. Tuohy. He is survived by his children, Teresa Savage and her husband, Edward of Cary, NC and William Tuohy, Jr. of Howell, his grandchild­ren, Andrew Savage and his wife, Nicole of Albany, OR, and Jennifer Savage of Cary, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Judith A. Wolfe; his brother, Dennis J. Tuohy, and his sister, Kathleen Consiglio and her husband, Frank; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church, 4215 Highway 9 North, Howell on Friday, July 7, 2023. Entombment will take place at Monmouth Memorial Park, 4201 Route 33, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753.
