STUART - Stephen John Ensor, 69, passed away on December 29, 2023 in Stuart, FL surrounded by his wife of 41 years, Linda, and their children, Mary and Michael, after a difficult struggle with Frontotemp­oral Dementia. Steve was born on April 10, 1954 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Mary and Melvin Ensor and spent his childhood and teenage years in Brick Township and later Forked River, New Jersey. Many days as youth were spent at Manasquan Beach with many of the other Roosevelt Drive families. He enjoyed beaches, fishing along the Point Pleasant Canal and when he grew older boating with friends and family. Steve attended St. Joseph’s HS ‘72 (now Donovan Catholic HS) in Toms River where he wrestled and played football.

Steve graduated from St. Leo’s University in Florida in 1976. He founded a constructi­on company in St. Louis, MO. Steve’s work in rehabilita­ting disenfranc­hised areas, especially in the Central West End of St. Louis, was not just a profession but a passion including a notable project on Lindell Blvd where he restored a 1904 mansion to its former glory.

He is survived by his wife Linda, their children Mary Kathleen Ensor and Michael Stephen Ensor, and his brothers Richard Ensor & his wife Deirdre, and Andrew Ensor, and a host of extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends who mourn his loss. Steve was predecease­d by his parents Mary and Melvin Ensor, and his youngest brother, Matthew Ensor.

A celebratio­n of life will be held the afternoon of April 13, 2024 in Stuart, FL. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories.
