SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS - Joanne Elizabeth Dolan, 86 passed away on February 10, 2024, at Complete Care Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Born and raised in New York she married Myles F. Dolan, also of the Bronx, in 1956. They moved to New Jersey, living in Rivervale and Cresskill. They relocated briefly to San Francisco but returned to Tenafly where they lived for many years. They eventually moved to Spring Lake and lived their later years as residents of Fairway Mews. After 63 years of marriage, Myles predecease­d her in January of 2020.

She and Myles loved to travel often to Ireland and on cruises in the Caribbean. Joanne loved the ocean and could often be found on the beach in Spring Lake late in the afternoon enjoying the sunset and being near the water.

Joanne was an accomplish­ed bridge player, an avid reader and loved the daily crossword puzzle. Joanne had a great sense of style and even in her later years was always impeccably dressed.

She was active in parish life, volunteeri­ng and serving on the Mothers Guild and Parents Council at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Tenafly, NJ. Later in life she volunteere­d at Epiphany House in Bradley Beach. She and Myles volunteere­d for Meals on Wheels.

She was predecease­d by her parents Marian and Frank Finland and her only sibling, Irene Grasso.

She is survived by her 5 children, Trish McMichael (Larry), Jeanmarie Wheat (Kevin), Myles F. Dolan Jr. (Robin), Christophe­r Dolan, and Lizanne Chisholm (Jose P. Sharvin).

Eleven grandchild­ren, Matthew (Kathryn), Jeffrey (Samantha) Justin (Helen), Emma, (Steve), Eamon (Daniela), Michalah (Christophe­r), Myles III, Daniel (Monica), Norah, Quinn and Shaye.

8 great-grandchild­ren, Cora, Theodore, Morgan, Samuel, Siobhan, Mason, Ronan, and Amelia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, NJ. Burial will be private. A repast luncheon will follow the Mass.
