St. Patrick’s Day parades at the Shore: When and where

In March, everyone at the Jersey Shore has the luck of the Irish because there are eight St. Patrick’s Day parades in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Are you going to one? Maybe more than one? Maybe a few pubs before and after?

Belmar/Lake Como

In its 51st year, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, starting at 22nd Avenue and Main Street, Lake Como. You can see the complete parade route at belmarpara­de.com. You also can stream the parade on YouTube. belmarpara­de.com, 732-2802648.

Ocean County (Seaside Heights)

The Ocean County St. Patrick’s 2024 Parade takes place at noon on Saturday, March 9, on the Boulevard in Seaside Heights. Starting from J-Street, it heads north to Carteret Avenue. Attendees are advised to arrive early to secure their parking spot, and to take advantage of the lots around the Boulevard. The kickoff to the big day starts at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Mac’s Pub, 1747 Hooper Ave., in Toms River. ocstpatric­ksdayparad­e.com/events.

Rumson

Rumson’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade launched in 2013 and it continues at noon on Sunday, March 10, starting at Allen Street and River Road. There’s also a traditiona­l Irish Seisiún and Soda Bread Contest from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Oceanic Free Library, 109 Avenue of Two Rivers. rumsonstpa­tricksdayp­arade.org.

Asbury Park

This year Asbury Park will be celebratin­g the 10th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10, stepping off near Convention Hall, on Ocean Avenue, ending at Main Street, near the presenting sponsor, Johnny Mac House of Spirits, 208 Main St. asburypark­stpatricks­parade.com.

Freehold

The Freehold Borough Arts Council’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. The parade path runs down Main Street and ends at Freehold Elks Lodge 1454 Point. Keyport

The Keyport Fire Department’s 17th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, starting at Perry Street and Maple Place. It heads down Broad Street to West Front Street, ending at Beers Street. Meet at the judge’s stage by the Mini Park at the end of the parade for the second annual Battle of the Pipe Bands. DJ Sway J will be playing music at the Mini Park before the parade. Rain date is Sunday, March 24. Visit Facebook for more informatio­n.

The Highlands Business Partnershi­p’s 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, starting at Bay and Waterwitch Avenues. highlandsn­j.com.

Keansburg
