Long Branch man accused of stalking and harassing teen
Police seek info on suspect’s activities
WEST LONG BRANCH — A Long Branch man was charged after police say he left notes and flowers on a 17year-old’s car and followed her home after school.
Now, they’re asking the public for more information on the man’s activities.
On Thursday, Thomas Watts, 70, was arrested by West Long Branch Police and charged with stalking and harassment, police said.
Watts was arrested after multiple incidents, including at the ShopRite in West Long Branch, where he first left notes and flowers for the 17-year-old victim, police said.
He then watched her from the parking lot and followed her in his own vehicle.
Watts was driving a 2016 gray Toyota Corolla, police said.
On another day, he followed the victim to Long Branch High School, where he left more flowers and a “disturbing” note on her windshield after watching from afar, according to police.
As the victim drove home from the school, he then followed her to her residence. Police said the first reported incident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on March 8.
Watt’s photo has been released, as police said they are seeking more information about his activities and looking for other possible victims.
