2023 WIN TOTAL LINES

-

Which team will win the most games in 2023? It’s no surprise oddsmakers like the reigning Super Bowl champions, but the Chiefs have some company at the top.

Vegas oddsmakers have released the win totals lines for the 2023 season, and as of press time, the Chiefs are expected to be joined by the Bengals and 49ers atop the NFL. All three teams have their win totals set at 11.5, making each of them also the respective favorites to win their divisions.

The oddsmakers are least bullish about the Cardinals, whose win total is set at a mere 4.5. The Buccaneers, Commanders, Texans and Colts aren’t much better; their win totals are set at 6.5.

A few interesting trends to note:

• The Steelers have won nine or more games in eight of the last nine seasons, including 2022. (They were 8-8 in 2019). Their win total for ‘23 is set at 8.5.

• The Texans have not won more than four games since 2019 — their last full season with DeShaun Watson at the helm. Despite Houston’s 3-13-1 record in 2022, oddsmakers like rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and new head coach DeMeco Ryans to improve the Texans immediately; their line is set at 6.5.

• Oddsmakers are bullish on Dan Campbell and the Lions, with their line set at 9.5. Last season, the Lions finished 9-8 but fell just short of making the playoffs. The Lions have won 10 or more games just once in the last 11 seasons (2014).

• The Packers are still expected to approach eight wins, with their line set at 7.5, even without Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay has not won fewer than eight games in the Matt LaFleur era. Can he keep it rolling with new QB Jordan Love?

• Cleveland has won 10 or more games just once in the past 15 seasons; can Watson lead the Browns to double-digit wins in his first full season with the team? Their projected win line is currently at 9.5.
