- Anastasia Schipanova

- By Daniel Limo

Combining Science, and Art, Russian painter Anastasia Schipanova expresses her passion for metaphysics and astrology. She works as an abstract expressionist, often using oils, and employs dark canvases to accentuate her patterns and colors. Schipanova circles around metaphorical themes of Universal Laws, and the mental expansion that can be evoked in the human psyche through experiencing such concepts in art. Schipanova's ideas reveal her perception of the physical universe and her thoughts about out of body experiences that engulf us every day. Her gradient blending interspersed with layering combine to beautiful effect.

Monochromatic tones applied, with a circular motion, provide an active sensory experience as her images appear to move through the canvas when gazed upon for long periods. With careful observation, her viewers can spot single specks of shapes as the epicenter among layered lines. A motif often discovered through several images is the concept and iconography of "infinity." With a passion for mental health, she links creativity with unlocking the subconscious mind and dedicates her practice to promoting the connection of Science and art as an evolutionary tool for improving human life's longevity.
