- Kina Wolfe
French-canadien mixed-media master Kina Wolfe shows an accelerated knowledge of the human body, movement, and form in her surreal displays of both figurative and abstract acrylic paintings. Wolfe incorporates clay relief into her work, adding to the spatial dimensionality of each canvas and overall aesthetic value. Her clay relief technique is executed with acute positioning to achieve her desired effect. Each abstract painting is immersive, transposing her audience to another dimension reflecting societal themes." Mon Universe'', reveals spheres, circles, lines, and ellipses, conjuring planetary motion with the effects of clay. Within an atmosphere of elevated black space that swirls with undulating patterns of deepest blue-grey, the circles shift in color as they overlie one another. Mint green becomes forest green as a light circle of ochre drifts over it, turning amber into a pale, warm tone.
“Life is perception, and art is the illusion of the importance we give it. I have a fascination for the interpretation of things. To take what is and to make it become something else, but without getting lost. The subtlety of a sectarian and infantilizing society certainly inspires me with the reliefs that stand out as rulers for the freedom of forms.”
