- Marta Promińska
Marta Promińska is a Polish contemporary artist with a mastered approach for hypnagogic figurative and landscape paintings. As such, you can expect heavy use of dull hues to blend through each oil painting. She applies her own twist to this age-old technique with a bit of underpainting and seamless gradient blends that enhance the depth of her pieces. Each element applied creates an atmosphere of partial darkness with hints of warm crimson and mustard underlying tones. Promińska's meticulousness and attention to detail in her work leaves no brush stroke to chance, ensuring the final result is what she envisioned.
What are you currently focusing on?
“Currently, I am focusing on workshop development; I am studying old master's techniques, history of color, pigment characteristics. I just started several canvases (I paint parallel because of the long paint drying process). There will also be a series of landscape images.”
Have you experienced any significant changes in your work this last year?
“I am focusing on creating and developing my own style. There will be no significant change, only deeper awareness of my own artistic way.”
Where are you from, and how has that influenced your art?
“I grew up in the city of Zamość, which Bernardo Morando designed as an ideal renaissance city. The historical context had a great influence on my artistic development. Now I live and create in Warsaw, where there are many interesting exhibitions and art events.”
