BACKGROUND: Nestled in the Montclair Hills above Oakland, the home offers sweeping views of the East Bay. The design was cited in Charles Jencks’ 1972 book Adhocism: The Case for Improvisation. The kitchen renovation garnered Andrew Lee Architecture an AIA East Bay 2014 Design Award Citation Award.
