SAVE

Thanks to previous owners’ work in the basement, Jamie didn’t have to do too much. “I didn’t put a lot of money into the basement because it was basically done ... I really put the money upstairs.”

SPLURGE

“We kind of splurged everywhere,” says Jamie with a laugh. But he and his team put extra time and resources into refurbishing the interior beams. They stripped and sanded the beams back down to the original wood color and then sealed them so they would match the exterior beams. “There was a team of guys that was doing it for weeks,” says Jamie.

BASEBOARD- LESS

Much of Jamie’s inspiration for this home came from Neutra’s homes, which don’t have baseboards. So when it came to his own space, Jamie’s team tore out the baseboards and fi nished the drywall all the way down to the fl oor.

?? ?? WHEN JAMIE BOUGHT THE HOME, IT CERTAINLY NEEDED SOME TLC. BUT THE BEAUTIFUL BONES OF THE HOME STILL SHONE THROUGH, WITH ITS FLOOR- TO- CEILING WINDOWS, QUARTZ FIREPLACE AND CEDAR BEAMS.
