Texas falls to Tucson on Sislo’s goal in OT
Mike Sislo scored 2 minutes, 10 seconds into overtime to lift the Tucson Roadrunners over the Texas Stars 2-1 in Arizona on Friday night.
The game was tied 1-1 heading to the third period, and neither team could move ahead in regulation.
Landon Bow made 25 saves but took the loss for Texas.
Hunter Miska was tested fewer times, having to make just 15 saves on the way to the win.
Tucson (31-17-4-1) took the lead in the second period on a power-play goal by Carter Camper. Sislo assisted on the goal 6:09 into the period. It was Camper’s 14th goal of the season.
Texas (31-21-6-3) tied the game on a goal by Samuel Laberge 14:14 into the period. It was Laberge’s sixth of the year. He was assisted by Dillon Heatherington and Matt Mangene.
The Stars aimed to bounce back as they faced the Roadrunners again Saturday night in Tucson.
Texas will return home for a four-game stretch that starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against Manitoba at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.
