Joe Bergeron can identify the signs when a defense is on the cusp of surrender. Heads hanging, hands on hips, lack of energy.

“Body language,” the Longhorns tailback said.

Bergeron suggested that is what opponents must endure this season, as the Longhorns rotate fresh tailbacks into games — him, Malcolm Brown, Johnathan Gray and D.J. Monroe.

Texas (1-0) provided a preview Saturday night, rushing for 280 yards and averaging six yards a carry in its 37-17 victory against Wyoming.

Bergeron, a 236-pound sophomore, got the start on Saturday. He carried 15 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Brown, a 220-pound 7 p.m. Saturday Royal-Memorial Stadium Longhorn Network KVET (1300 AM, 98.1 FM) Both teams are 1-0

Texas, 47-0 (1988) sophomore, gained 105 yards on 14 tries, scoring once.

Last season, Bergeron and Brown became the first Longhorns freshmen ever to exceed 100 yards in the same game, when Bergeron put up 136 yards and Brown 119 against Kansas.
