Woman held in threat freed
She was in jail a month after officials blamed ex-boyfriend for bomb hoax at Texas State.
SAN MARCOS — A former Texas State University student accused of threatening to bomb the campus this fall spent more than a month in jail before being released Wednesday, despite a federal criminal complaint issued days after her arrest that said her ex-boyfriend used her email to send the threats.
Brittany Henderson, 19, was booked at the Hays County jail on Halloween, her bail set at $40,500 for three felony charges of making a terroristic threat and three misdemeanor charges of making a false alarm or report. The Hays County district attorney’s ofice agreed to reduce five of the charges to personal recognizance bonds this week; the sixth was reduced to $5,000.
She spent Wednesday night at home in Bryan.
