Waste Management offers free tree recycling at the Williamson County Landfill through Jan. 12.

The landfill is at 600 Landfill Road, between U.S. 79 and Texas 29. It’s open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon. It’s closed on Sundays. The landfill also serves as a collection point for the Hutto Food Pantry. Visitors are invited to donate non-perishable food when they drop off their trees. The landfill provides mulch from the trees to Williamson County residents at no charge.

Christmas trees will also be accepted through Jan. 31, at no charge, at the city of Georgetown Collection Station.

Mulch is available, yearround, free-of-charge at the collection station, located at 250 W.L. Walden Drive. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Texas Disposal System customers can also call 930-1715 to schedule a Christmas tree pickup on Jan. 12.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is offering $12 pet adoptions for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens until the end of December, according to the Williamson County website.
