The Farrells do not permit themselves to look ahead. Instead, they just try to make it through each day.

Tim Farrell, 6-foot5 and 180 pounds, and Suzanne coordinate their schedules daily.

He has undergone three heart surgeries and more than a dozen additional procedures as a result of Marfan.

“Cardiac procedures have become so common in our family now,” Suzanne Farrell said. “I just view them as another appointmen­t. God has my back no matter what, so I tend to not worry about these things as much.”

Although he remains optimistic that he will get better, Tim Farrell said his goal is to live long enough to see his daughter graduate from high school in eight years.

Although he went into cardiac arrest in July, he has felt noticeable improvemen­t in recent months.

He and Suzanne Farrell look over Aubrey’s shoulder when she does homework, offering help when the fourth-grader has a question.

“It’s all about them,” Tim Farrell said of his wife and daughter. “This isn’t about me. It’s about them.”

The family would love to finally take that vacation and could use donated airline miles, hotel stay credits or other financial gifts toward that.

Their most immediate needs are car repairs,
