Many of the featured families’ needs have been taken care of through inkind donations of goods and services. More than $142,000 of in-kind donations have been received.
You can give financially through Jan. 31 by making a donation online at statesman.com/seasonforcaring, or by clipping out the donation coupon in the paper.

The Al Zuwaydee family came to Austin from Baghdad, Iraq, in March with only suitcases. They need rent assistance and tuition for computer tech and child care certification programs. Interfaith Action of Central Texas, 386-9145, www.interfaithtexas.org.
María González Bolaños has lived in the United States for a decade since leaving Cuba. A surgical practice is considering donating knee surgery to her to get her back on her feet. Tim Farrell, 45, and his daughter Aubrey, 9, both have Marfan syndrome, which affects muscles and the heart. They need help with medical bills, piano lessons for Aubrey, a family vacation, a phone line to monitor his defibrillator, taxi vouchers and gift cards. Ethel Wright, 65, who is raising four of her grandchildren, needs a better house.
Their mobile home, which is held together by duct tape, is beyond repair.
