New Salvation Army Service Center opens
A new Salvation Army Williamson County Service Center will host an open house from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m., at its new facility, 307 Shannon Lane.
The new center, which has been serving clients since February, offers a food pantry, clothing closet, rent and utilities assistance, and occasional emergency lodging to those in need. The center was established in response to population growth and increased poverty in the area, according to a statement.
Visitors may tour the facility and are invited to bring donations of canned chicken or tuna, peanut butter, pasta, pasta sauce, dry beans, rice, or cereal and canned items for the food pantry.
