Austin technology company Apogee Telecom Inc. said it has acquired Campus Tele- video, a Connecticut-based company that provides video services for the higher education industry.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Campus Televideo will become a division of Apogee, the companies said.

“Apogee’s acquisition of CTV is a significant milestone and a proud moment for both companies. Our new combined entity expands our successful portfolio and brands us as the undisputed leader in the higher education technology landscape,” Chuck Brady, CEO of Apogee, said in a written statement.

“Now, more than ever, as the lines blur between WiFi, data networking and video delivery, colleges and universities can count on Apogee’s team of experts to help them navigate and stay ahead technologically, bolster their com-

petitive advantage and achieve greater student satisfaction and retention,” Brady said.

Founded in 1998, privately held Apogee Telecom provides highspeed campus residential networks and other networking products, including video.

Its customers have included the University of Texas, Florida State University and Southwestern University.

Campus Televideo describes itself as “the leading provider of video solutions in higher education,” and says it offers “tailored video services, IPTV and streaming solutions for the delivery of authenticated entertainment, educational and custom content.”
