It’s better-equipped than ever

- By Noah Bradon

Starting at $61,920, the 2015 Navigator is a luxury SUV, which boasts the finest command performance Lincoln has to offer.

This new SUV comes with seating for up to eight and features designed to please.

The Navigator comes in four different models, each with its own benefifits. To fifind the appropriate fuel efficiency, choose from the Navigator 4x2, which offers the highest combined city/highway mileage of 18 mpg; the L4x2; the 4x4; or the L4x4.

Each model is equipped with the same 3.5-liter Twin Turbo Charged Direct Injection EcoBoost V6 engine, which “extracts more power per cubic inch of displacement than conventional engines, resulting in 380 horsepower and 460 pounds-per-foot of torque,” according to www.lincoln.com.

To add to the power, the Nav- igator is unique in its Independent Multilink Rear Suspension System. By allowing each wheel to independently handle the ever-changing road conditions, the overall quality of the ride is enhanced.

The 2015 Navigator’s towing capabilities of up to 9,000 pounds have earned it best-in- class towing, with Trailer Sway Control features that prevent instability. Even when ascending, the Navigator’s standard Hill Start Assist function activates the brake to prevent rollback, while the Hill Descent Control maintains the

optimal brake pressure to help you down steep hills.

Available Trac Four-Wheel-Drive System gives added confifi

dence and handling, regardless of the road’s conditions.

The Six-Speed SelectShift Automatic Transmission goes hand-in

hand with the refined V6 engine by offering two modes to choose between. The Progressive Range Select delivers the ideal range of gears for the best performance

and control on hilly conditions. “Tap down into Range Select mode and the display shows the available gears and highlights the one that’s in use,” according to www.lincoln.com. The Full Manual mode gives you unbridled control by locking the torque converter and hold, thus delivering the sensation of a manual transmission system.

The capabilities of the Navigator are extensive, but what is on the outside counts too. From fifirst striking glance, the chrome grille gives this SUV a presence, while the newly redesigned high-inten

sity discharge headlamps with LED signature accent lighting

help make a statement, and the 222 LED lights illuminating the exterior of the Navigator give you excellent visibility.

For ease and versatility in many conditions, the power-folding and heated exterior mirrors are programmed with memory settings, giving you the correct perspective every time you get in the vehicle.

Advanced technology is an integral part of a Lincoln, and the Navigator is no exception. With SYNC technology, MyLincoln Touch allows you personalization, from the fifive-way steering wheelmounted controls to the voice-recognition technology. New to the Navigator’s features is the passive entry with push-button start. Once inside the Navigator, a simple combination of the brake pedal, start button and gear selection is all you need to be on your way.

Lincoln has included the THX II Certifified 5.1 Surround Audio System, with 14 speakers, including the subwoofer. This audio system delivers 600 watts of power and quality surround sound.

Luxurious on the inside, Geneva leather is standard in the Navigator and gives each passenger a comforting haven in which to relax. For the driver and front-seat passenger, there is an added level of comfort with the standard heated and cooled seats, each with three temperature grades.

An array of safety features, such as the rear-view camera and available Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffiffic Alert, help you and your passengers safely arrive at whatever destination.

Advanced, luxurious and highly competent, the 2015 Navigator from Lincoln is hard to ignore.
