When it comes to flflashy or luxurious imports, the national nods tend to go to Germany or Italy, but a good number of Austin

enthusiasts are big fans of the British. And once a year they get together in Round Rock to host the largest show of its kind in the state. The Texas All British

Car Days will be held over the weekend of Sept. 25-27 and will feature the pride and joy of numerous local car clubs dedicated to British automobiles such as Triumph, MG, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Bentley. It is an annual tradition that goes back 25 years.

The event begins with a Friday “meet and greet” at The Brass Tap in downtown Round Rock. On Saturday there are three rallies scheduled before the public car show, which will be held on Sunday at Centennial Park at 201 S. Brown St. in Round Rock.

The car show is free to the public and will feature awards in 42 difffffffffffferent classes of cars. Vehicles can be registered for $30 ($25 if registered early) and registration begins at 9 a.m. on the Plaza.

In addition to drawing sporty makes like the Triumph Spitfifire, the All British Car Days are well known for an impressive contingent of pre-World War II era classic British automobiles.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the show runs until 3 p.m. with live music from JoAnna Lee starting at noon. Award presentations begin shortly after 2 p.m.

During the show, organizers will also hold rafflffles and a silent auction. All proceeds from the event will once again benefifit The Open Door Preschool, a charitable organization which seeks to “nurture and inspire young children of diverse needs, economic levels, and family backgrounds in an engaging educational environment.”

The organization, which began in 1975, turns 40 years old this year and now operates three campuses in Austin.
