Concussion forces rookie to retire
Ex-Packer Coxson still has symptoms from Aug. 1 injury.
Ex-Green Bay Packers wide receiver Adrian Coxson is retiring after a severe concussion suffered during the third practice of training camp continues to produce symptoms. Coxson, 24, said he spoke with multiple doctors and specialists who recommended he retire.
“I’m more concerned about my health right now,” Coxson said. “They said it’s a Grade 3 concussion.” Coxson, who played college football at Stony Brook, dropped out of practice Aug. 1 after experiencing dizziness. He was taken to a hospital, and further tests the following day led to the diagnosis of a concussion.
