Hot off a sold-out run of comedic performances in June and July, Loverboy begins its tenure Wednesday as Cold Towne Theater’s newest house troupe; performances from the all-female cast will become a Wednesday night tradition. Loverboy, which includes up-and-coming local comedians including Chelsea Bunn, Cene Hale, Kim Lowery and others, draws its inspiration from dating and relationship stories, hosting a different guest storyteller each week. — ARI AUBER

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Yard Dog will host a double-header with Jon Langford and Steve Wynn. Welsh-born, Chicago-based Langford — former drummer of seminal punk band the Mekons — is best known for his striking portraits of music icons including Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Los Angeles-based Wynn, a longtime player in underground bands, makes his artistic debut.
