Angels slugger Albert Pujols is recovering after having surgery to repair damage to his right foot.

The team announced Monday that Pujols is expected to resume full baseball activities in 4½ months, which would be late in spring training. The surgery was performed last week in Charlotte, N.C.

The 35-year-old first baseman hit .244 with 40 homers and 95 RBIs in 2015 and made the AllStar team.

Pujols spent most of the final month as the designated hitter while slowed by a toe problem.

Indians: Outfielder Michael Brantley will likely miss the start of next season following arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder Monday in Wilmington, Del.

The team said Brantley won’t be ready “for game activity” for five to six months. Brantley, who throws left-handed, had a small tear repaired in his right labrum.

Hall of Fame ballot announced: Trevor Hoffman and Ken Griffey Jr. are among 15 newcomers on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot and will face a newly trimmed electorate along with steroid-tainted holdovers Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa.

The ballot also includes Garret Anderson, Brad Ausmus, Jeff Bagwell, Luis Castillo, Jim Edmonds, Nomar Garciaparra, Mark Grudzielanek, Jason Kendall, Jeff Kent, Edgar Martinez, Fred McGriff, Mike Mussina, Mike Piazza, Tim Raines, Curt Schilling, Gary Sheffield, Lee Smith, Mike Sweeney, Alan Trammell, Larry Walker, Randy Winn.

General manager meetings: Mets GM Sandy Alderson is missing the annual meetings to undergo an unspecified medical procedure, a week after fainting during a news conference at Citi Field.

Assistant general manager John Ricco will lead the Mets’ contingent during the four-day session that began Monday night in Boca Raton, Fla.

Twins: Minnesota won the bidding for negotiating rights to slugger Byung Ho Park, a 29-yearold first baseman who hit a total of 105 home runs over the past two seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Per MLB rules, the Twins have a 30-day exclusive negotiating period to sign Park to a contract.
