Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is “progressing nicely” through the NFL concussion protocol.

Bridgewater was knocked out of the game against St. Louis on Sunday by a hit to the head from Rams defensive back Lamarcus Joyner. Zimmer has said he believes Bridgewater will be ready to start against Oakland on Sunday.

Bridgewater was at practice with the rest of the team on Wednesday.

Shaun Hill finished the game for the Vikings, helping them to a 21-18 overtime win. Zimmer says he is confident in Hill if Bridgewater cannot play, but he remains optimistic the second-year starter will be back in the lineup Sunday.

Broncos: Coach Gary Kubiak said Peyton Manning sat out Wednesday’s practice because of a sore foot that has bothered the 39-year-old quarterback for a “couple weeks,” NFL Media reported.

Kubiak said that Manning came out of Sunday’s defeat at Indianapolis “really sore” after playing on the FieldTurf at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Broncos expect him to return to practice today and play Sunday against the Chiefs.

“Who’s not sore (in Week 10)?” Manning asked the media.

Browns: Starting quarterback Josh McCown is limited in practice this week with injured ribs but could still play Sunday in Pittsburgh. Coach Mike Pettine said McCown threw some passes Tuesday and has made progress from the injury sustained on Nov. 1 against Arizona. McCown was inactive for last week’s loss at Cincinnati as Johnny Manziel made his fourth career start.

Meantime, Manziel defended his visit to Texas A&M while the Browns were off last weekend. Photos of him holding a beer were posted on social media. Manziel spent 70 days in a rehab facility last offseason.

Packers: Coach Mike McCarthy said running back James Starks will start ahead of Eddie Lacy when Green Bay hosts the Lions on Sunday. McCarthy said Starks “is our No. 1 back right now going into Detroit.”

Lacy has rushed for more than 1,100 yards in each of his first two seasons, but has just 308 yards through eight games this season. Starks is the team’s leading rusher with 334 yards on five fewer carries.

Jets: New York is dealing with an unexpected shake-up on its offensive line after right guard Willie Colon was placed on season-ending injured reserve with chronic knee problems. Colon will be replaced by Brian Winters, a third-round pick in 2013 who started against the Jaguars.

The Jets used Colon’s roster spot to activate cornerback Dee Milliner from short-term IR.

Bills: Running back LeSean McCoy is expected to play tonight, though it’s uncertain who will be available to block for him against the Jets. The Bills listed McCoy as probable after he was limited in practice because of a sore right shoulder.

Starting right tackle Seantrel Henderson (illness) and backup Cyrus Kouandjio (knee) are listed as questionable.

Eagles: Left tackle Jason Peters said he’s 50-50 to play Sunday against the Dolphins as he manages a back injury. Peters missed last weekend’s game against the Cowboys with what he called “a pinched nerve.”

L.A. relocation: Officials from Oakland, San Diego and St. Louis spoke Wednesday to the league’s Los Angeles, stadium and finance committees — all three of which play some role in a potential relocation.

No votes were scheduled for Wednesday, and the league has set a special meeting in Dallas on Dec. 2 at which substantial steps could come.
